Il genere survival continua a crescere, questa volta grazie a Nether, il nuovo terrificante open world MMO in sviluppo da parte di Phospor Games. Il gioco in questione sarà caratterizzato da un grande e persistente mondo online dove i giocatori potranno scegliere i loro destini e costruire la loro stessa storia.

L'ambiente urbano di Nether sarà allo stesso tempo il suo punto forte e il suo più grande azzardo. I grandi campi aperti di DayZ permettono ai giocatori di essere anche molto distanti l'uno dall'altro ma un buon cecchino è in grado di eliminare questa distanza, forzando cosi i giocatori ad interagire, nel bene e nel male. In un ambiente di tipo urbano invece, i giocatori saranno in grado di passare l'uno accanto all'altro senza magari nemmeno accorgersene. Essere all'interno di un edificio a cercare viveri magari potrebbe rendervi invisibile alle persone che stanno passando nella strada sottostante.
